The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) has announced that it is fully prepared to assume responsibility for governing the Gaza Strip as momentum builds around the second phase of the ceasefire roadmap.
In a statement released on Friday, the committee welcomed recent progress in ceasefire negotiations, describing it as a significant step toward restoring stability after years of conflict. It said the immediate priority is to convert diplomatic progress into practical improvements that address the humanitarian and administrative needs of Gaza’s population.
According to the NCAG, preparations to take over governance have already been completed. The committee said it is ready to restore essential public services, improve the rule of law, coordinate humanitarian assistance, and oversee large-scale recovery and reconstruction efforts across the enclave.
Officials acknowledged that rebuilding Gaza will require extensive international cooperation, long-term financial support, and coordinated efforts from regional and global partners. They emphasized that reconstruction should be accompanied by the development of effective public institutions capable of delivering security, stability, and essential services.
The committee also reiterated its commitment to supporting Palestinian self-governance and creating conditions for long-term peace and economic recovery. It said its vision extends beyond rebuilding damaged infrastructure to establishing a stable and prosperous future for Gaza under legitimate Palestinian institutions.
The announcement follows recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding progress on a broader Gaza agreement that includes the phased disarmament of armed groups, the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the deployment of an international stabilization force to support security and governance during the transition.
