Germany Sees Sharp Rise in Fuel Prices

Diesel Prices Hit Record High in Germany Despite New Rules

Fuel Costs Continue to Rise Despite Government Measures

Berlin
Diesel prices in Germany climbed to a new record on the second day of newly introduced fuel pricing regulations, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the government’s measures to control price fluctuations.

Sharp Increase in Fuel Prices

According to the German Automobile Club (ADAC), the average price of diesel reached €2.415 per liter by midday on Friday, marking the highest level ever recorded in the country. This reflects an increase of 11.8 cents compared to the previous day.

At the same time, gasoline prices also rose significantly. The price of E10 fuel increased by 9.8 cents, bringing the national average to €2.198 per liter.

New Regulation Shows Limited Impact

Earlier this month, German authorities introduced new rules aimed at reducing sudden price changes. Under these regulations, fuel stations can raise prices only once per day. However, they may lower prices multiple times throughout the day.

Despite this restriction, prices continued to surge, suggesting that the new policy has had limited impact so far. As a result, consumers across the country continue to face increasing fuel costs.
