India Admits Jet Losses Amid Policy Constraints

IAF Blames Restrictions for Pakistan Clash Setback

Indian Official Confirms Aircraft Losses During 86-Hour Conflict With Pakistan

An Indian defence representative has acknowledged that the Indian Air Force (IAF) lost several aircraft during an attack on Pakistan on the night of May 7. The strikes, which targeted civilian areas, took place during a recent 86-hour conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations.

Captain Shiv Kumar, a defence attaché for India, made the disclosure while speaking at a seminar titled “Analysis of the Pakistan–India Air Battle and Indonesia’s Anticipatory Strategies from the Perspective of Air Power,” hosted by Universitas Dirgantara Marsekal Suryadarma in Indonesia, according to reports in Indian media.

Captain Kumar attributed the IAF’s losses to strategic limitations placed by New Delhi. He explained that Indian pilots had been instructed not to target Pakistan’s military assets in an effort to prevent the situation from escalating further.
