Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization announced Tuesday that flights from Tehran to Baghdad and Muscat in Oman will be suspended from early Wednesday.
Organization spokesperson Majid Akhavan said Baghdad and Muscat airports would stop receiving Iranian flights from midnight local time. He added that authorities were coordinating arrangements to redirect flights bound for Baghdad to Najaf airport instead.
Akhavan said other international routes, including flights to Istanbul, would continue operating according to schedule and had not been affected by the decision.
The aviation authority did not provide additional information about the reason for the cancellations.
