Israeli Strikes Kill 37 in Gaza as Child Deaths from Hunger Rise
GAZA —
Israeli airstrikes across Gaza have killed 37 people in the past 24 hours, including at least nine children, according to Gaza’s civil defence agency. Most were killed in seven separate drone and air attacks, while two others died waiting for aid in the Netzarim corridor. Strikes hit homes and a school sheltering displaced families, killing multiple children in northern Gaza.
Gaza authorities also reported that at least 66 children have died from malnutrition since the war began. Officials accused Israel of deliberately using starvation as a weapon and condemned the silence of the international community. They urged the United Nations to open crossings for urgent humanitarian aid.
Meanwhile, Israel has issued fresh evacuation orders in northern Gaza ahead of a new military offensive. Civilians were told to move south to Al-Mawasi, an area already overcrowded with displaced people. The army warned of intensified operations targeting Hamas.
Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have killed over 61,700 Palestinians, including more than 17,000 children. Israel faces international legal action, including ICC arrest warrants for top officials and a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
