Israeli Army Downs Yemen Missile

Israel’s military intercepted a missile early Wednesday morning that had been launched from Yemen, crossing into Israeli airspace. Sirens went off in the region due to the risk of falling debris, prompting Magen David Adom to report that around nine people were injured while rushing to shelters.

This marks the fifth missile strike in just one week, with millions of Israelis once again forced into protective shelters as the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen escalates its attacks. The Houthis, framing these strikes as a show of support for Palestinians in Gaza, have used drones and missiles to target Israel repeatedly.

Earlier, the Houthi group claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile attack on Tel Aviv, with spokesperson Yahya Sarea saying, “Our missile force hit a military target in Tel Aviv with a hypersonic missile.” He vowed that attacks would continue until Israel halts its actions in Gaza and lifts the siege.

That same morning, Israel’s air defense systems successfully intercepted another missile from Yemen, preventing it from entering Israeli territory.
