Six people were killed and two others injured in a suspected ethnic attack
NAIROBI, Kenya: At least six people were killed and two others injured in a suspected ethnic attack in Kenya’s northeastern Mandera province near the Ethiopian border on Wednesday, according to local media.
Mandera’s Banisa district police officer Mathias Chisambo confirmed that most of the victims come from Degodia clan which has been having disputes with Garre community, reports say.
“There is fight between the Garre and Degodia communities in the area for many years,” he said.
Degodia and Garre clans in northern Kenya have been fighting for supremacy and control of the county something that has degenerated into clashes over the years.–AA
