Fire Erupts in Bahrain’s Maameer Following Iranian Attack
ISTANBUL — Bahrain’s National Communication Centre reported that a fire broke out in the Maameer area south of Manama after an Iranian attack, according to local media on Monday.
Authorities confirmed the fire caused material damage but did not result in any injuries or deaths. Firefighting teams are actively working to control the blaze.
Industrial Area at Risk
Maameer is an industrial hub housing the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) refinery along with numerous factories and production units. The attack highlighted the vulnerability of key industrial infrastructure amid rising regional tensions.
Regional Escalation
The incident comes as tensions in the region have escalated since February 28, when the United States and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran, resulting in more than 1,200 deaths, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In retaliation, Iran has conducted drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries hosting U.S. military assets, intensifying the ongoing conflict.
