UAE Adviser Urges Iran and US to Avoid Conflict Through Diplomacy
Call for Dialogue at Dubai Summit
A senior adviser to the president of the United Arab Emirates said on Monday that the Middle East does not need another conflict between the United States and Iran, urging Tehran to pursue a nuclear agreement with Washington.
Speaking at a panel discussion during the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Anwar Gargash, the UAE president’s diplomatic adviser, stressed the importance of dialogue over confrontation.
Region Faces Enough Instability
Gargash said the region has already endured repeated crises and warned against adding another major dispute.
“The region has gone through many damaging confrontations,” he said. “We do not need another one.”
He added that direct talks between Iran and the United States could help ease tensions and prevent recurring disputes.
Push for Direct Negotiations
According to Gargash, sustained negotiations could lead to clearer agreements and reduce ongoing friction between Tehran and Washington.
“I would like to see direct Iranian-American negotiations that lead to understandings, so these issues do not arise every other day,” he said.
His remarks reflect broader regional concerns about escalation and underline the UAE’s support for diplomatic solutions to long-running geopolitical disputes.
