Nine countries from the Middle East and Asia have announced they will join US President Donald Trump’s newly proposed “Board of Peace” for the Gaza Strip. The participating nations emphasized their commitment to achieving a permanent ceasefire and supporting reconstruction in the Palestinian enclave.

The foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar confirmed their participation in a joint statement on Wednesday.
“The Ministers reiterate their countries’ support for the peace efforts led by President Trump,” the statement said.
It added that the board’s mission focuses on consolidating a permanent ceasefire, supporting Gaza’s reconstruction, and advancing a just and lasting peace. The plan is based on the Palestinian right to self-determination and statehood in accordance with international law, aiming to ensure regional security and stability.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced on Wednesday that it had accepted Trump’s invitation to join the board.
