Israeli Raids Intensify Nablus Jerusalem Casualties Mount

Renewed violence in the occupied West Bank has resulted in the death of a Palestinian and multiple injuries following Israeli military operations in Nablus and East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian health authorities.

The Health Ministry reported that a 26-year-old man was fatally shot during a raid in Nablus, where four others sustained injuries from live ammunition. Emergency services also indicated that dozens of residents suffered breathing difficulties after exposure to tear gas, with several requiring hospital treatment.

Eyewitness accounts and local sources described intense military activity in the city, including the use of tear gas, stun grenades, and the deployment of ground patrols across central areas. Reports also indicated that shops were searched during the operation, contributing to heightened tension throughout the city.

In East Jerusalem, authorities confirmed that a 13-year-old child was injured following an alleged assault during a separate incident. The child was transported to a medical facility, where the condition was described as stable but requiring care.

The developments come amid ongoing unrest across the West Bank, where violence has surged in recent months. According to Palestinian figures, hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers reside in the territory, a situation widely regarded as illegal under international law.

Since late 2023, the region has witnessed a sharp increase in casualties, with over a thousand Palestinians killed and thousands more injured, reflecting the deteriorating security environment.

The latest incidents underscore continuing instability in the region, raising concerns over civilian safety and the broader humanitarian situation.
