During his first official visit to Türkiye, Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al Said expressed strong support for Türkiye’s approach to regional issues. In a joint statement with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Sultan highlighted the shared goal of establishing peace and security in the region, particularly regarding Palestine, and stressed the importance of achieving a two-state solution.
Sultan Haitham praised the historic relationship between Oman and Türkiye, calling Türkiye a “brother country.” He emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral ties in various fields such as energy, defense, education, and infrastructure. Sultan Haitham acknowledged the contributions of Turkish companies to Oman’s development and highlighted the potential for even greater economic collaboration between the two nations.
The Sultan expressed full confidence in Türkiye’s economy, suggesting that further joint efforts could create a stronger economic partnership. In addition, both countries are working to establish a joint investment fund to strengthen economic ties. Sultan Haitham also stressed the need for increased cultural cooperation and bilateral dialogue between the two countries.
