Two Palestinian women and a girl were injured by Israeli army gunfire during a military raid in Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank on Thursday, according to local sources.
Israeli forces entered Al-Karmil, south of Hebron, deployed soldiers throughout the town and searched several homes. Some houses were reportedly turned into temporary military positions. During the operation, soldiers opened fire on a vehicle carrying women, injuring two women and a girl.
In another part of Hebron governorate, Israeli military vehicles began demolishing a house in Karma village, south of Dura. The reason for the demolition was not immediately known.
Israeli forces also carried out raids in several areas of the West Bank. A young Palestinian man was arrested after his family home in Al-Rashaydeh, east of Bethlehem, was searched. Additional raids were reported in Beit Jala, Al-Khader, Za’tara, Dar Salah, Al-Ubeidiya and Al-Shawawra.
In Qalqilya governorate, two Palestinians were arrested after Israeli forces searched their homes. Troops also raided Tammun, southeast of Tubas, and searched several houses, many belonging to families of former prisoners.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers reportedly increased their activities in Bethlehem governorate. Residents said Israeli flags were placed along a road in the Ash Gharab area east of Beit Sahour following the establishment of a settlement outpost there. Additional mobile homes have reportedly been installed as the outpost expands under Israeli military protection.
The occupied West Bank has experienced continued military raids, settler attacks, settlement expansion and restrictions on Palestinian movement since the escalation of the Gaza conflict in October 2023.
