UK Forces Intercept Iranian Drones During Night Operations
Fighter jets from the Royal Air Force (RAF) have shot down several Iranian drones during overnight operations, according to the UK Ministry of Defence.
Officials confirmed that RAF Regiment gunners destroyed the drones while operating in a high-risk area as part of ongoing military missions in the Middle East.
Ongoing Air Missions Across the Region
Meanwhile, RAF Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets, along with Wildcat helicopters, continued defensive patrols overnight. These operations covered multiple locations, including Cyprus, Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
According to the ministry, British pilots and aircrew have now completed more than 1,200 flying hours since the conflict began.
Multiple Drones Neutralized
In addition, RAF Regiment gunners reportedly intercepted seven “one-way attack drones” during operations on Sunday night. These drones are designed to strike targets directly, increasing the threat level in the region.
Conflict Continues to Escalate
The situation across the Middle East remains tense following the large-scale air campaign launched by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28.
Reports indicate that more than 1,340 people have been killed in the strikes, including Ali Khamenei.
Retaliation Expands Regional Threat
In response, Iran has carried out drone and missile attacks targeting Israel as well as Iraq and several Gulf countries hosting US military facilities.
As a result, the conflict has caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and aviation, raising concerns about wider instability.
