The death toll from a fire at a firecracker manufacturing facility in Russia’s Yaroslavl region has increased to 14, while one person was reported injured, authorities said Tuesday.
Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry said the blaze had been fully extinguished. Emergency crews remained at the site to remove debris anE d continue recovery operations.
Regional Governor Mikhail Yevrayev separately announced that a state of emergency had been declared in the Pereslavl-Zalessky District following the incident.
Earlier, the Emergency Situations Ministry reported that more than 100 emergency personnel and 40 pieces of equipment had been involved in efforts to bring the fire under control.
