Saudi Crown Prince Wants Pakistani IT Workers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif disclosed that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia has expressed a need for millions of skilled workers from Pakistan’s Information Technology sector to support the kingdom’s growing technological infrastructure. In a cabinet meeting, PM Shehbaz reviewed the results of his recent diplomatic missions to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, where both countries showed interest in partnering with Pakistan on workforce and IT development.

During his discussions with the Saudi crown prince, PM Shehbaz highlighted the anticipated increase in demand for IT professionals. Additionally, the talks included potential collaborations in solar energy, mining, and agriculture, with plans for a Pakistani team to visit Saudi Arabia for further negotiations.

In Qatar, PM Shehbaz engaged in fruitful discussions with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who reaffirmed Qatar’s dedication to economic cooperation. The emir also announced an expedited $3 billion investment in various sectors. A delegation from Qatar is expected to visit Pakistan soon to assess opportunities in the IT and minerals sectors, alongside plans to establish an IT park in Pakistan, enhancing bilateral technological relations.
