Tehran Confirms Repatriation of Iranian Nationals from US

Iranian Nationals to Arrive Home Following US Pressure

Over 50 Iranians to Return Home from United States

Tehran — Dec. 8, 2025

Iran announced on Sunday that more than 50 of its nationals are set to return from the United States amid President Donald Trump’s intensified immigration enforcement.

“In the coming days, around 50 to 55 Iranian nationals will return,” said Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry, during his weekly press conference. “This is the second group to be returned in recent months.”

CNN reported that the group is expected to arrive in Iran later on Sunday after a stopover in Kuwait.

Baqaei criticised the United States, describing its measures as “racist actions against foreign nationals — particularly citizens of our region, especially Iranians.” He further stated that the pressures on Iranian nationals appear politically motivated and contradict human rights laws.

The spokesperson explained that the Iranians, facing pressure from US authorities, contacted the Iranian Interests Section in Washington and “expressed their willingness to return to their homeland.”

This move highlights growing tensions over immigration policies and reflects Iran’s ongoing concern about the treatment of its citizens abroad.
