Trump Nominates Lance Schroyer as ICE Director

Trump Names Lance Schroyer for Top ICE Post

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has nominated veteran law enforcement officer Lance Schroyer to serve as the next director of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), praising his extensive experience and leadership in immigration enforcement.

Announcing the nomination on his Truth Social platform, Trump said Schroyer brings more than 29 years of law enforcement experience in Oklahoma and described him as a seasoned leader capable of strengthening the administration’s immigration agenda.

The president highlighted Schroyer’s operational background, calling him a dedicated public servant with decades of experience tackling serious criminal activity. Trump also expressed confidence in Schroyer’s ability to oversee immigration detention and deportation efforts involving individuals accused of criminal offenses.

Trump urged the US Senate to confirm the nomination without delay, noting that his administration has recorded what he described as the highest daily arrest rates by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The nomination follows the resignation of former ICE Director Todd Lyons at the end of May. Since then, David Venturella has been serving as acting director while overseeing the agency’s operations.

If confirmed by the Senate, Schroyer will take charge of one of the nation’s primary immigration enforcement agencies at a time when border security and immigration remain central priorities of the Trump administration.
