During the meeting, Mitsotakis announced plans for an academic scholarship in memory of Ionas “Yona” Karussis, a young Greek-Israeli architecture student killed in a terrorist attack in Jaffa. Herzog emphasized the strong partnership between Greece and Israel, expressing gratitude for Greece’s solidarity. Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to supporting Israel and called for both an immediate hostage release and a ceasefire in Gaza.
