Trump Warns Iran as US Military Presence Grows in Gulf
WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that “time is running out” to reach a nuclear agreement, as the United States continues to strengthen its military presence in the Gulf region.
The warning comes amid rising tensions between the two countries and renewed concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities.
US Signals Military Pressure
Speaking publicly, President Trump said a large US naval force was moving toward the region. He described the deployment as a powerful and determined show of strength, aimed at pressuring Tehran to return to negotiations over its nuclear programme.
At the same time, US officials have emphasized that the military build-up is intended to protect American interests and regional allies.
Iran Responds With Strong Warning
In response, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the country’s armed forces were on high alert. He warned that Iran would respond immediately and forcefully to any attack by land or sea.
He added that Iran would not hesitate to defend itself if the United States or its allies carried out any aggressive action.
Nuclear Dispute Remains Unresolved
Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran has repeatedly rejected claims by the United States and its allies that it is attempting to develop nuclear weapons.
Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts in recent years, both sides remain deeply divided, with no clear path toward a renewed agreement.
