Israel Suspends Gaza Crossings and Aid Deliveries Following Missile Attack
Israel has shut all entry points into the Gaza Strip and halted humanitarian aid shipments after an Iranian missile attack, according to Israeli authorities.
The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), a unit under Israel’s Defense Ministry, confirmed that new security measures were introduced in response to the ballistic missile strike. These measures include the indefinite closure of key crossings such as Kerem Shalom and Rafah.
Officials stated that the restrictions were implemented as part of broader security precautions following the escalation in regional tensions. They further argued that the suspension of aid would not significantly worsen conditions inside Gaza, claiming that food supplies delivered during the ceasefire period had already surpassed minimum nutritional requirements according to UN standards.
However, Palestinian authorities and humanitarian organizations dispute these claims, warning that conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate rapidly. They report increasing shortages of essential supplies, including food, medicine, shelter materials and reconstruction equipment.
Palestinian officials also accuse Israel of failing to meet obligations under the ceasefire agreement, particularly regarding the agreed flow of humanitarian assistance and recovery resources into the territory.
The humanitarian situation remains highly sensitive amid ongoing conflict. Palestinian sources report tens of thousands of casualties since the escalation began in October 2023, with women and children forming a significant proportion of those affected.
Although a ceasefire was established in October 2025 between Israel and Hamas, intermittent violence has continued, further complicating aid delivery and reconstruction efforts.
The latest closure of Gaza crossings is expected to deepen international concern, with aid agencies warning of worsening living conditions and heightened humanitarian risks for civilians in the territory.
As regional tensions continue to rise following the missile attack, the situation remains unstable, with growing fears of further escalation and long-term humanitarian consequences.
