Explosive Drones Target Colombian Military Base

Drone Attack Kills Three Colombian Soldiers and Injures Eight

At least three Colombian Army soldiers were killed and eight others sustained serious injuries after explosive-equipped drones struck military facilities in Santa Rosa, located in the southern Bolivar region, according to the army’s First Division.

The military said the attack targeted installations within the Military Canton using drones that had been modified to carry explosive devices.

Following the incident, security measures were immediately put into effect. Military personnel launched an assessment to determine the extent of the destruction and establish the total number of casualties.

Several other soldiers were also affected by the attack and are currently receiving medical attention at healthcare facilities.

The army strongly condemned the incident, calling it a grave breach of international humanitarian law and human rights.

The First Division also appealed to members of the public to share relevant information with security authorities to help identify potential threats and prevent further acts of violence against civilians and military personnel.

Authorities urged citizens to report any useful information through Colombia’s national anti-terrorism hotline.
