Dana White Rejects Trump Press Secretary Offer

Dana White Turns Down Trump Administration Position

Dana White Turns Down Trump’s Offer to Become White House Spokesperson

US President Donald Trump on Saturday reportedly offered UFC President and CEO Dana White the position of White House press secretary. However, White declined the proposal, according to CNN.

A source familiar with the discussions told CNN that White rejected what was described as an unusual suggestion.

Trump praised White in a post on his Truth Social platform, describing him as a fighter and warrior. He expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of having the UFC executive represent his administration as its spokesperson.

The US president also suggested that White bring several assistants with him, identifying six UFC fighters and sharing their photographs online.

Trump said the fighters could help defend his administration against what he called the “Lunatic Left,” adding that White would make an exceptional and unconventional spokesperson.

However, a White House aide suggested that Trump’s proposal was intended as a joke.

The offer comes as Trump continues looking for a new press secretary following Karoline Leavitt’s departure and Katie Zacharia’s brief five-day tenure in the position.

The spokesperson’s role has become increasingly important as Democrats have taken control of Congress and pledged to investigate the Trump administration.

Meanwhile, White House Communications Director Steven Cheung appeared to endorse the suggestion by reposting Trump’s message on Saturday and writing: “Hell yeah! Do it, @DanaWhite!”
