According to the chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, the Suez Canal as compared to last month of the last year, experienced a great decrease in shipment of around 10.1 million tonnes last month of this following year.
Further, around 1,601 ships were reported to had travel through the waterways which carried 94.8 million tonnes of goods, General Osana Rabie told, adding that the drop in global trade has left the consequences of reduction which is a demand for goods because of the lockdowns which has been implemented amid pandemic, which also led to the suspension of maritime shipments.
The official stressed that Egypt has maintained the rate of shipping through the channel, only thanks to the adoption of a set of flexible marketing and pricing policies aimed at supporting customers and preserving the canal’s competitive services.
There were reports coming from officials who were addressing that the Egypt had a great maintenance of shipping’s rate via channel, while as compared to 2019, only one fewer vessel traveled through the waterway this year.
