Eurasian Leaders to Meet in Russia for Regional Talks
St. Petersburg will host senior Eurasian leaders for high-level regional discussions on December 21–22, as Russia prepares to convene major multilateral meetings aimed at strengthening economic and political cooperation.
The city will first host a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the highest decision-making body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). During the meeting, heads of state are expected to review progress on economic integration, assess regional trade cooperation, and discuss future policy coordination among member states.
In addition, leaders from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will take part in informal talks on the sidelines of the summit. These discussions are expected to focus on regional stability, economic collaboration, and shared political priorities.
Russian officials say the meetings will provide an opportunity for direct dialogue among Eurasian leaders at a time of shifting global economic conditions. The back-to-back gatherings also highlight Russia’s role as a central platform for regional diplomacy and coordination.
Together, the meetings are expected to reinforce cooperation across Eurasia and support ongoing efforts to deepen economic ties among participating nations.
