Chicago, USA — A man was killed and a woman injured in a drive-by shooting Friday morning in the Garfield Park area of Chicago, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. in the 0–100 block of South Springfield Avenue. Police said a vehicle approached the two individuals, and someone inside the car fired several shots before fleeing the scene.

Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.
