Iran Internet Blackout Surpasses 1000 Hours as Connectivity Remains Severely Limited

Nationwide Internet Shutdown in Iran Continues Beyond 40 Days

Iran Internet Blackout Crosses 1,000 Hours as Connectivity Stays Near 1%

Nationwide Shutdown Enters Extended Period

Iran has now experienced more than 1,000 hours of internet disruption, according to data released by internet monitoring group NetBlocks. The group reported on Saturday that nationwide connectivity has remained at around 1% since early March.

NetBlocks shared its findings on social media platform X, showing a sharp drop in internet access across Iran beginning in early March, with no significant recovery through April 10.

Connectivity Collapse After Early March Disruption

Reports indicate the shutdown began on February 28, following military strikes involving the United States and Israel. The disruption has severely limited public access to online services and communication tools across the country.

Prolonged Restrictions on Communication

The internet blackout has now continued for over 40 days, making it one of the longest nationwide connectivity disruptions recorded in recent years. Most users in Iran have been restricted to heavily controlled domestic networks during this period.

Authorities in Iran have not provided a detailed public timeline for restoring full internet access.
