Iran Parliament Speaker Warns US Against Escalation

Qalibaf Urges Respect for Iranian Rights

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf warned US President Donald Trump against further escalation, cautioning that recent actions could lead to serious regional consequences.

In a message shared on social media, Qalibaf stated that Washington’s approach risks drawing the United States into a severe and prolonged crisis. He criticized US policy and urged leaders to respect the rights of the Iranian people instead of pursuing confrontation.

“The only real solution is respecting the rights of the Iranian people and ending this dangerous course,” he said.

Trump Issues Strong Warning

Meanwhile, Trump issued a sharp warning to Tehran, threatening to target key infrastructure if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In posts on his social media platform, he said the US could strike power plants and bridges in Iran by Tuesday if the situation does not change. He also indicated a possible timeline for further action, though he did not provide detailed clarification.

Earlier, Trump suggested that a potential agreement with Tehran could still be reached within days, signaling mixed messages amid rising tensions.

Rising Regional Tensions

Tensions in the region have intensified since joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran beginning on February 28. The conflict has resulted in more than 1,340 deaths, including senior leadership figures.

Qalibaf warned that continued escalation could destabilize the wider Middle East. He emphasized that dialogue and respect for sovereignty remain essential to prevent further conflict.
