Israel Receives Coffin of Fallen Hostage from Gaza

Jerusalem, November 9, 2025 — The Prime Minister’s Office announced today that Israel has received the coffin of a fallen hostage through the Red Cross. IDF and ISA personnel collected the remains inside the Gaza Strip and transferred them to Israel.

Military Ceremony and Identification

Upon arrival, the coffin will be received with a military ceremony led by the IDF Chief Rabbi. Afterwards, authorities will move the remains to the National Center of Forensic Medicine under the Health Ministry. Once the identification process is complete, officials will formally notify the family.

Support for Families and Ongoing Efforts

The Prime Minister’s Office informed all hostage families about the transfer. Officials expressed sympathy for the families and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to return every remaining hostage safely. They stressed that the effort will continue until the last hostage is brought home.
