Kuwait Intercepts Missiles and Drones as Regional Tensions Rise

Explosions Reported in Kuwait During Air Defense Operations

Kuwait Responds to Aerial Threats

Kuwait confirmed early Friday that its air defense systems actively responded to incoming missile and drone threats. Authorities reported several explosions across parts of the country during the operation.

Military Confirms Interception Efforts

In an official statement shared on the social media platform X, the Kuwaiti armed forces explained that the explosions resulted from defense systems engaging hostile targets. However, officials did not identify the origin of the attacks.

At the same time, the military urged residents to remain calm and follow official safety guidelines.

Recent Interceptions Reported

Earlier, on Thursday, Kuwait’s military reported that it had successfully detected and intercepted two cruise missiles and 13 drones within a 24-hour period. Importantly, no casualties or property damage were recorded.

Regional Tensions Continue to Rise

The incident comes amid ongoing tensions across the Middle East. The situation escalated after the United States and Israel launched a large-scale air campaign on February 28.

Since then, Iran has responded with missile and drone strikes targeting Israel, as well as countries such as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military bases.

Impact on Region and Global Systems

As a result, the conflict has caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and air travel. Meanwhile, countries across the region remain on high alert as security concerns continue to grow.
