US Intelligence Says Iran Retains Strong Missile Capabilities

Iran Maintains Offensive Power Despite Weeks of Airstrikes

Iran Retains Significant Military Capability

Recent US intelligence assessments indicate that Iran still holds substantial missile and drone capabilities despite weeks of sustained attacks by the United States and Israel.

According to sources cited by CNN, nearly half of Iran’s missile launch systems remain operational. In addition, the country continues to possess thousands of one-way attack drones.

Drone and Missile Systems Remain Intact

The report suggests that around 50 percent of Iran’s drone capacity is still functional. Moreover, many coastal defense cruise missiles have not suffered major damage.

These missiles remain a key strategic asset, especially for controlling maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz. As a result, Iran continues to maintain a credible threat to regional shipping.

Impact of Ongoing Military Campaign

The ongoing air campaign, launched on February 28, has targeted thousands of sites across Iran. US Central Command confirmed that forces have struck more than 12,300 targets since the start of the operation.

While these attacks have weakened Iran’s military structure and eliminated several senior leaders, they have not completely destroyed its offensive capabilities.

Leadership Losses and Military Pressure

Among those reported killed are Iran’s former supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and senior official Ali Larijani. These losses have affected command structures but have not eliminated Iran’s operational strength.

Contrasting Public Statements

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has publicly stated that Iran’s missile and drone capabilities have been significantly reduced. However, the latest intelligence assessments present a more cautious view.

Officials suggest that although the strikes have caused damage, Iran still retains a large stockpile of weapons and functioning launch systems.
