In a bold demonstration of combat superiority and seamless joint operations, Sailors from the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and Marines of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit have successfully concluded the high-stakes Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), forging a lethal and agile expeditionary force.

Over the span of three intensive weeks, personnel aboard the USS Iwo Jima, USS San Antonio, and USS Fort Lauderdale conducted complex warfighting drills, showcasing their prowess in amphibious warfare, maritime interdiction, reconnaissance, live-fire missions, and noncombatant evacuation operations.

“This success shows that we are America’s expeditionary quick-reaction force — capable of delivering decisive combat power in any environment at any time,” declared Navy Capt. Chris Farricker, commodore of Amphibious Squadron 8.

The USS Bulkeley, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, also played a pivotal role, reinforcing maritime security, air defense, and surface warfare readiness — validating a unified combat strategy across sea and air domains.

From tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel to precision boarding operations and joint amphibious assaults, each mission was a testament to interoperability and rapid-response effectiveness.

“This exercise wasn’t just about individual readiness — it was about building unbreakable bonds and a shared commitment to mission success,” Farricker emphasized. “We stand ready to answer the nation’s call, unified in purpose and unmatched in our combined might.”

The exercise marks a critical milestone in U.S. naval and marine expeditionary preparedness, reaffirming America’s ability to project power swiftly and decisively anywhere in the world.
