New Pope Warns of AI Risks, Calls for Global Peace and Spiritual Renewal

Pope Leo XIV Pledges to Safeguard Church Traditions, Warns Against Rise of Autocracy and AI Threats

Pope Leo XIV, newly inaugurated as the head of the Catholic Church, has vowed to preserve the institution’s spiritual and cultural heritage while firmly rejecting autocratic leadership within the Church.

Speaking during his inaugural address at the Vatican, the Pope outlined the key pillars of his papacy: promoting global peace, strengthening the moral fabric of society, and confronting the challenges posed by artificial intelligence.

“The Church must remain a guardian of human dignity in an era of rapid technological change,” he said. “We cannot allow artificial intelligence to replace human conscience or compassion.”

Pope Leo XIV also emphasized the importance of interfaith dialogue and global unity, calling on world leaders to prioritize peace and justice.
