ISTANBUL – The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Thursday at 8,872.85 points, marking a 1.81% increase from the previous day.
The BIST 100 index opened at 8,779.05 points and gained 158.16 points from Wednesday’s close. The index recorded a daily low of 8,779.05 and a high of 8,920.17.
At the end of the day, 90 indexes rose in value, while nine declined. The total transaction volume reached 61 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.78 billion), and the overall market capitalization of the index was 7.76 trillion liras (around $226.9 billion).
As of 6:30 PM (1530 GMT), the exchange rates were as follows: USD/TRY at 34.2340, EUR/TRY at 36.9675, and GBP/TRY at 44.3675. Additionally, the price of one ounce of gold stood at $2,733.22, while Brent crude oil was priced at approximately $74.35 per barrel.
