Ukraine has officially ended its air traffic agreement with Iran, as announced by Taras Melnychuk, a representative of Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers, on Friday. The agreement, originally signed in Tehran on July 9, 1993, is now null and void.
Since Ukraine closed its airspace in February 2022, regular civil flights have been suspended. The termination of the agreement means that once Ukraine’s airspace reopens, air traffic with Iran will not resume.
Ukraine has accused Iran of providing military support to Russia, a claim that Iran has consistently denied.
