4th Kazan Global Youth Summit Opens in Tatarstan
KAZAN, Russia/ISTANBUL — The 4th Kazan Global Youth Summit began Thursday in Kazan, Tatarstan’s capital. Over 200 young leaders from 45 countries gathered to discuss global challenges. Anadolu serves as the global communication partner for the event, held at the Kamal Theatre.
The Tatarstan government, Russian government, Kazan Federal University, and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) organized the summit. Consequently, it fosters dialogue among young leaders. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leila Fazleeva expressed pride in hosting the event. She noted its role in shaping youth policies globally. Moreover, participation from diverse nations has grown significantly.
ICYF President Taha Ayhan called the summit a key platform. It enables young leaders to share ideas and plan solutions. This year, the theme focuses on education and global transformation. Specifically, education builds character, creativity, and leadership, Ayhan emphasized. Thus, it supports active societal contributions.
Discussions cover climate change, identity issues, and the Gaza crisis. For instance, delegates aim to address these challenges with wisdom and integrity. Tatarstan presidential advisor Timur Suleymanov highlighted the summit’s goal since 2022. It unites youth to shape policies. Furthermore, global challenges require cooperative international approaches.
Ministers from Nicaragua, Venezuela, and African nations attend. Notably, BRICS countries have strong representation. Suleymanov stressed Tatarstan’s role as a bridge for Russia’s global engagement.
The summit continues through August 30. It focuses on issues affecting youth in Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states.
