ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has called on the United States and Iran to avoid actions that could further escalate tensions and threaten peace in the Middle East, emphasizing that diplomacy remains the only viable path to lasting stability.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern over the latest regional developments and urged all parties to exercise restraint. Islamabad also called on Washington and Tehran to honor their commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), describing it as a key framework for promoting mutual understanding and regional security.
Pakistan reaffirmed its willingness to support diplomatic efforts as hostilities intensified following new exchanges of military strikes between the US and Iran. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he does not expect the conflict to develop into another war.
