South Korea Pledges $100M to Ukraine

ANKARA: South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held their first bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, focusing on security cooperation, humanitarian issues, and continued support for Ukraine.

The leaders discussed the future of North Korean prisoners of war captured by Ukrainian forces, agreeing that any repatriation would be handled in line with international law, humanitarian principles, and the wishes of the individuals involved.

During the talks, South Korea also announced a $100 million aid package for Ukraine, reaffirming its commitment to international peace and regional security. Zelenskyy welcomed the assistance and expressed interest in strengthening ties with Seoul, while both leaders agreed to expand cooperation on shared priorities.
