Qatar Calls for Dialogue and Restraint in Venezuela

Qatar Offers Support for Peaceful Resolution in Venezuela

Doha pledges assistance for dialogue and de-escalation after U.S. strikes

Qatar announced on Saturday that it is ready to contribute to any international efforts aimed at achieving an immediate peaceful solution in Venezuela. The country called on all parties to exercise restraint and work toward de-escalation.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over recent developments in Venezuela, following U.S. strikes on Caracas and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The ministry urged all sides to reduce tensions and engage in dialogue to address ongoing challenges.

Qatar reaffirmed its commitment to the UN Charter and principles of international law, highlighting the importance of peaceful dispute resolution. Doha also stated its readiness to assist in any international initiatives aimed at restoring stability, emphasizing the importance of maintaining open communication channels with all involved parties.

U.S. President Donald Trump said in a news conference on Saturday that Maduro and his wife were on a ship en route to New York. He added that a decision would be made on whether they would face trial in New York or Miami. Trump also noted that large U.S. oil companies would invest billions to repair Venezuela’s “badly broken” oil infrastructure and generate revenue for the country.
