Zelenskyy Rejects Russian Claim of Drone Attack on Putin Residence
KYIV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy firmly rejected Russia’s claim that Ukrainian forces carried out a drone strike on the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the city of Novgorod.
Speaking shortly after the allegation emerged, Zelenskyy dismissed the accusation as false. He said Moscow was attempting to disrupt ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions. His remarks came one day after he met with US President Donald Trump, a meeting that focused on potential pathways toward peace.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy accused Russia of using misinformation to undermine negotiations and shift attention away from diplomatic progress. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly denied targeting civilian or residential locations inside Russia.
As diplomatic discussions continue, Kyiv maintains that such claims serve political purposes rather than reflect events on the ground.
