Saudi Coalition Intercepts Two Houthi Ballistic Missiles Targeting Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition operating in Yemen announced on Sunday that its air defence systems had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthi group toward the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki confirmed the development in a statement shared on the social media platform X, saying that air defence forces successfully neutralized both missiles before they could reach their intended destination.

The announcement followed an earlier report by the coalition that another ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province had also been intercepted.

The latest incidents highlight continuing military tensions between the Saudi-led coalition and Yemen’s Houthi movement, which has repeatedly targeted Saudi territory with missile and drone strikes.
