UK France Germany Warn Iran Over Missile Threats

Iran Strikes Prompt Coordinated International Response

UK France Germany Signal Defensive Measures Over Iran Missile Threats

BRUSSELS

Leaders of the E3 group — the United Kingdom, France and Germany — announced on Sunday that they stand ready to take necessary and proportionate defensive measures to safeguard their interests and those of their allies in the Middle East. They issued the statement after what they described as indiscriminate Iranian missile attacks across the region.

In their joint statement, the three governments said Iran’s actions put both military personnel and civilians at risk. They urged Tehran to halt the attacks without delay.

Moreover, the leaders stressed that they may act to neutralize Iran’s ability to launch missiles and drones at their source if the situation continues. They said any response would remain defensive and proportionate to the threat.

Coordination With the United States

In addition, the E3 leaders confirmed that they will work closely with the United States and regional partners to manage the crisis. They emphasized the importance of joint coordination to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.

Rising Regional Tensions

Tensions increased sharply on Saturday after the United States and Israel carried out strikes inside Iran. The attacks killed several senior Iranian figures, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Soon afterward, Tehran launched a series of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, US assets and several Gulf states. As a result, the security situation across the region remains highly volatile.
