The US Secret Service has launched an investigation after reports of gunfire near Lafayette Park, located just north of the White House. Officers responded to the scene shortly after midnight on Saturday.

Search Conducted but No Suspect Found

Following the alert, officials carried out a detailed search of the park and nearby areas. However, they did not locate any suspect. Authorities also confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident.

Joint Investigation Underway

Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi stated that the agency is working closely with the DC Metropolitan Police Department and the US Park Police. Investigators are currently looking for a person of interest and a vehicle possibly linked to the case.

Temporary Road Closures Lifted

Authorities closed several roads in the area as a precaution after the incident. Later, they reopened all routes once the situation came under control. Updates were shared through the social media platform X.

Despite the security concern, officials confirmed that activities at the White House continued without disruption. At the same time, security teams maintained a heightened level of alert to ensure safety.
