US companies in Pakistan are driving significant economic progress, creating jobs, and empowering women, as highlighted at the American Business Forum (ABF) in Lahore. With over 80 US businesses employing 120,000 people directly and impacting over a million more, these companies are fostering growth and skills development. A US official praised their commitment to education, health, and workforce inclusivity, particularly through initiatives like the US-Pakistan Women’s Council and PepsiCo’s efforts to promote female participation in agriculture.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, such as Coca-Cola’s “Recharge Pakistan” for flood prevention, were also spotlighted. These ventures underscore how US businesses are not just profit-driven but actively transforming communities. Additionally, positive economic indicators, like declining inflation, were noted, alongside a call for continued reforms under the IMF program to ensure sustained progress.
