A police investigation is ongoing after a woman was fatally shot in Barrington on Sunday evening.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., officers responded to a call on the 400 block of West Russell Street, near South Lageshulte Street, where they found a 42-year-old woman with a gunshot wound. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released further information, including whether a suspect is being sought. The investigation is being handled by Barrington police, in collaboration with the Major Case Assistance Team.
