Netanyahu Meets German FM Wadephul, Vows to Strengthen Israel-Germany Partnership

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hosted German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul today at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem, reaffirming the enduring alliance between Israel and Germany as the two countries mark 60 years of diplomatic relations.

The meeting was attended by senior Israeli and German officials, including National Security Council Director Tzachi Hanegbi, Military Secretary Maj.-Gen. Roman Gofman, and Israel’s Ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, along with German Ambassador to Israel, Steffen Siebert.

Welcoming the German delegation, Prime Minister Netanyahu highlighted the strength of bilateral relations and expressed optimism about deepening strategic cooperation.
“We have excellent relations, and they will continue,” Netanyahu said. “We share common interests, values, and challenges. I’m confident that we’ll strengthen our partnership even further.” He also extended warm regards to CDU leader Friedrich Merz and praised Germany’s ongoing commitment to the alliance.

Foreign Minister Wadephul, in return, thanked the Prime Minister for the warm reception and noted the symbolic importance of his visit.
“It’s a privilege to be here, especially on the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between our nations,” Wadephul said.

The visit underscores the continued diplomatic engagement and mutual commitment to shared democratic values and regional stability.
