Worldwide News: King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Monday declared an ordering donation of $10 million to support the efforts against COVID-19 made by World Health Organisation (WHO).
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Health Organization (WHO) are working together to combat novel coronavirus (COVID-19),” mentioned in a statement issued by King.
The statement further acknowledged that The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has shared around $10 million to the World Health Organization to make quick and urgent measures of implementation to combat the spread of COVID-19 and to support countries with vulnerable health infrastructures.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus who is the Director General of WHO appreciated the step taken by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and said the organization praises this charitable humanitarian gesture from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques,King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He also said that this will contribute significantly to efforts to safeguard global health.
