In a move to strengthen international travel and security ties, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced today a new Global Entry partnership with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), making it the 23rd country to allow its citizens to apply for expedited customs processing in the U.S. This collaboration aims to enhance secure travel, simplify immigration procedures, and foster greater diplomatic and economic engagement between the two nations.
“This agreement reflects our shared commitment to facilitating secure and efficient travel while enhancing border security for both nations,” said Diane J. Sabatino, Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner of CBP’s Office of Field Operations. By offering Global Entry membership to UAE citizens, CBP continues its mission to support low-risk, pre-vetted travelers while boosting bilateral trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
Under the program, UAE applicants will undergo thorough background checks and an in-person interview, mirroring the vetting process for U.S. applicants. Membership provides access to TSA PreCheck and the Global Entry Mobile App, offering quick security screening and digital customs declarations to make U.S. entry smoother and faster.
The CBP’s Trusted Traveler Programs, including Global Entry, have grown popular worldwide, with partner countries spanning Argentina, Germany, India, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. As more nations join, the program expands its capacity to facilitate faster, more efficient, and secure international travel while maintaining rigorous security standards for all members.–News Desk
