UAE Condemns Missile Launch
The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned an attempted ballistic missile launch by Iran toward the airspace of Türkiye, describing the incident as a dangerous escalation in regional tensions.
In a statement released Thursday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said such actions represent a clear violation of national sovereignty and pose a direct threat to regional security and stability.
Warning Against Wider Conflict
Furthermore, the ministry stressed that expanding attacks to additional countries is unacceptable under international legal and political standards. Officials added that such actions risk undermining ongoing efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
The statement also warned that military escalation could further destabilize the Middle East and increase security risks for neighboring countries.
Missile Intercepted by NATO Forces
Earlier on Wednesday, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense confirmed that a ballistic munition launched from Iran toward Turkish airspace had been intercepted.
According to the ministry, NATO air and missile defense units operating in the Eastern Mediterranean successfully detected and neutralized the projectile before it entered Turkish territory.
