The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers faced off for the 209th time on Sunday, with Green Bay securing another victory to extend their dominance in the rivalry.
The Packers have now won 11 straight games against the Bears and 16 of the last 17 matchups, including all five meetings under Matt Eberflus’ coaching tenure.
Bears’ Record Against the Packers
The long-standing rivalry, which spans over a century, currently favors Green Bay, with the Packers holding an all-time record of 108-95-6 against the Bears.
Last Bears’ Victory Over Packers
Chicago’s last win against Green Bay came in December 2018, when they clinched the NFC North title with a 24-17 victory at Soldier Field. In that game, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns, while Jordan Howard added another score on the ground.
Since that victory, the Packers have outscored the Bears 306-178 over their last 11 meetings, further increasing their lead in the rivalry. Since 2010, Chicago has only managed four wins in 30 games against Green Bay.
Shifts in the Rivalry
While the rivalry is currently one-sided, it hasn’t always been this way. During the 1980s and early 1990s, the Bears were dominant, winning eight straight games from 1985 to 1988 and 15 out of 17 matchups during that period.
The tide turned in 1994 when the Packers won 10 consecutive games, followed by another seven-game streak between 2000 and 2003, marking the beginning of their extended period of dominance over Chicago.
